So, how should we steer away from darkness?

Suits
When else would it be ok to be dressed completely in one colour? The suits by Hardy Amies season after season are so smart and interesting. The floral fabric in the dinner suit is perfect with a navy lapel. Also, Alexander McQueen released some great suits with elegant florals. Lastly, the busy suit by Oliver Spencer is one of the most interesting this season.

Outerwear
You can be boring inside but interesting on the outside. Outerwear this season is powerful and energetic. Bright yellows, strong reds and busy florals were the highlights of the outerwear game - down jackets, leather jackets, trench coats and bridge coats. Make sure your statement outerwear is a memorable one.

Sweaters and Sweatshirts
The fall season demands sweaters and sweatshirts. This is one of the simplest ways to dress up to show off some personality. A single statement piece easily transforms an otherwise boring look. Pringle of Scotland has announced that you need to find that hand-knit sweater which you tried to burn on your 14th birthday.

Accessories
Again, colour created what were the statement pieces in LCM, overpowering all the other darker elements like knit sweaters and and classic black coats. Winter is the best time to add more to your look with scarves, beanies, hats, gloves and bags. Maybe even try out the lego glasses, beard and face mask.
