NYFW | The True New Yorker - DKNY SS14 Review

DKNY at New York Fashion Week was a reminder of 90s New York flavour and urban sportswear. The brand showcased its strongest points in creative streetwear. The items were also updated with more pastel colours and the bold DKNY logo. Just in case it wasn't New York enough, the iconic yellow taxi cabs served as a backdrop for the show. It was well put together with large DKNY letters covered in graffiti. The photos are posted here. Street culture of the 90s was definitely a big inspiration, celebrating 25 years of the brand. Of course, headlines were of singer Rita Ora closing the show.

Mens: Most of the newer looks played with black and white mixing up dressier casual and sportswear. The suits were really clean and crisp and the black and white minimalist option was a good way to break up the looks. I really enjoyed the contrast panels to give more edge to the outfit.

Womens: I really liked seeing the dresses paired with sneakers. It was the sort of urban and athletic attitude which makes DKNY so lovable. It was also good to see loose-fitting pieces which worked really well with the bold 'DKNY' and 'NEW YORK' necklaces. Love the logo swimwear + cap!
