NYFW | Young Heart - Marc by Marc Jacobs SS14 Review

Probably the hottest line right now for younger fashion consumers. Marc by Marc Jacobs at New York Fashion Week showed off what being young is about. The stylish twists of varsity and cheerleading inspired outfits along with some statement novelty pieces were interesting. The use of pastels and satin was innocently youthful. Clearly, this line knows its demographic. Most garments were loose fitting and youthful. The energy was very high in the red pieces and the show ended with large star prints. You can see all the photos here.

The collection boasted some interesting pieces and their form was stylish but I felt underwhelmed by Marc by Marc Jacobs this season.

Mens: I enjoyed the contrast lapel tuxes the most but second prize goes to that bag. Although the silver bomber was not as outstanding as Burberry's creation, I think it was a good addition to the collection.

Ladies: Most items were good but not outstanding. I enjoyed the short hemline dresses because they're especially summery. The glitter dress was an interesting addition and quite novelty, but a strong statement piece from the line. The satin pastel top suited the wide pants and sneakers quite well. But the clothes looked a bit too ASOS anyway.
